Welcome to Waste Less Consulting! Beyond consulting with clients to reduce their waste, I (Angie) also run the Recycling Plus project. Recycling Plus is a way to recycle materials *and* fund nonprofits in the process!
Most of the items that I can take are not accepted at recycling centers in Vermont; if you send these items there they will become trash. Hence, I am offering you a great opportunity to actually divert these materials from landfills!
An added benefit of recycling these items with me is that most will earn points, which I can then award to your chosen nonprofit! Nonprofits are welcome to join this project, send Angie a message to get started.

How the Recycling Plus project works:
- You gather items from the list below and let me know when you have a paper grocery bag or several full
- We meet and I take only the applicable items from you, for Onion River Exchange credits / $5.50 Paypal / $5 per paper grocery bag. You might get a few tips from me too!
- You can tell me which nonprofit you want supported, I keep track of your points, and mail in items when they get to the minimum weights
- I award nonprofits 1000 points equaling $10 (unlimited, nonprofits can get checks twice a year)
Items I collect have to be used up / shaken out / emptied, and dry not dripping. This is seriously simple - you can just keep a paper bag next to the trash, toss all the empty dry items in, and contact me when it's full. To help you remember, you can even write the accepted items right onto the bag. And yes neighbors, friends, etc. can share a bag. Whomever turns the bag in to me will take any inapplicable items back with them.
The following list is exclusive; for example pill bottles, saline bottles, chip bags, and other things not listed will not be accepted. Inapplicable items will still belong to you, though I can try to help you figure out how to divert them from going into the trash.

- Glass or plastic vitamin & supplement bottles, lids, and vitamin & supplement flexible packaging (Excludes: prescriptions) [100 points per pound]
- All Hasbro toys and games, including: board games, electronic toys & games, metal/plastic/wood toys & games, action figures, dolls, plush toys, etc. (Excludes: batteries, playpens, car seats, high chairs, swings, bouncy seats, bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skateboards) [no points]
- Burt’s Bees branded personal care, lip care, and beauty care packaging [100 points per pound]
- GU™ brand only: Energy Gel 15 serving pouches, energy stroopwafel wrappers [1 point each]
- Clif Bar & Co. wrappers: Clif Kid Z-Fruit, Shot Bloks, Shot Gels and Shot Drinks, pouches from Clif Organic Energy Food [1 point each]
- NOW® food and supplement pouches, and XyliWhite™ toothpaste tubes [100 points per pound]
- Contact lenses and blister packs from all brands, Biotrue® ONEday brand contact lenses and blister packs, as well as other Bausch + Lomb brand contact lenses and blister packs [$1 per pound to Optometry Giving Sight]
- FLONASE® outer plastic packaging and empty FLONASE® nasal spray cartridges [100 points per pound]
- Everpure residential water filters [100 points per pound]
- Open Farm™ Pet Food packaging [2 points each]
- Cleaner packaging triggers [100 points per pound]
